The incredible James Morton is back at Pro Music Tutor with the latest addition to our collection of saxophone lessons, this time with Minor 2,5,1’s Series 2.
This series follows on from the recently released Minor 2,5,1’s Series 1, and progresses from the content of those lessons onto another set of pro tips, tricks and techniques. In Minor 2,5,1’s Series 2 you’ll look at the Melodic Minor scale, Guide Tones, and learn with James how to target the 3rd, 5th, and 7th as you play through your chord progressions.
Check out James Morton’s Pro Music Tutor profile here.
As usual, this series contains six lessons all packed with excellent learning tips and advice, all from one of the United Kingdom’s most popular saxophonists. While Minor 2,5,1’s are predominantly useful for those playing jazz style saxophone, what you’ll learn can easily be transferred across to different musical genres.
Importantly if you’re playing in a band, these lessons are perfect if you’re looking to learn how to play great sounding improvisations in conjunction with a piano, guitar, or other instruments. Use our backing track to get an idea of how this works and to play your own incredible solos based on what you will learn in Minor 2,5,1’s Series 2.
James recommends you complete his Major 2,5,1’s series prior to moving onto Minor 2,5,1’s, however these lessons are structured in such a way that it is easy for you to start here or even to bounce between both collections as you progress.
