Here, the legendary blues guitarist Innes Sibun shows you how to play over a Latin feeling minor blues. This series provides for all levels of guitarist looking to learn licks either to play within the genre or to transpose and mix with other styles. Innes will teach you everything from basic licks to more complicated notes and combinations, as well as giving you ideas and inspiration for putting your own unique take on what you will learn throughout the series.

Tutor Description

Innes Sibun has been described as ‘the best sort of musician’ by Classic Rock: The Blues Magazine, while Total Guitar once called him responsible for ‘the best blues you’ll hear all year.’ If you’re passionate about improving your blues guitar, then Innes is your man. In between touring, recording, and working with some of the world’s leading producers on a variety of works, Innes found the time to bring his amazing guitar playing style and knowledge to Pro Music Tutor.

  • Blues Experience Series 1 - Lesson 6 For the final lesson in the series Innes demonstrates, again, that he is one hell of a guitarist and tutor. Ramping up the pressure for the final lesson, you'll discover a quick, slightly Gaelic in tone, opening lick to the solo. This moves on to those open string licks again, to give you some flavour and an awesome SRV style double stop lick. As ever, with these great sounding solos, Innes will take you through everything you need to know in detail, oh and there are some over bends and fast runs for you to get your fingers around too.
  • Blues Experience Series 1 - Tone and Gear Innes is a legendary blues guitarist so it is pretty much a given that his set up is going to be quality too. Playing in this style requires subtlety and harnessing the right sort of sound is important. As you'll see, for Innes this begins with his simple, yet beautiful telecaster with hand wound, custom pickups. He goes on to demonstrate his preferences for string gauge on his guitars, shows you his lovely Mesa Boogie Road King-2 amp which he controls from an awesome foot pedal. He explains his own setup in detail so this will definitely give you some ideas when building your own.
  • Blues Experience Series 1 - Backing/Jam Track This is a great backing track with a really mellow, cool beat; you're going to love it. Designed to be used perfectly in conjunction with the solos you've learned from Innes throughout the previous six lessons, you can practice alone, or jam with friends with this track. Just stick it on repeat and get practicing all of those cool licks and volume rolls you've been learning.
